Disney Dreamlight Valley: how to tame the fox?

In Disney Dreamlight Valley, each biome has its own critter that you are free to tame. If the foxes of the Frozen Heights appeal to you, you're going to have to catch a few fish before approaching them. Find out how to tame this animal right here:

The different types of foxes

The first area you can visit in Disney Dreamlight Valley is the Esplanade, but you will quickly be able to unlock other biomes. Each area has its own resources, such as wood, minerals, and plants, which you can use to craft items and cook. You will also be able to meet different critters depending on where you are, such as the sea turtles of the Enchanted Beach which we spoke to you about recently, but also the foxes which you can find on the Frozen Heights. There are 8 types of foxes, but only 5 of them can be encountered in game, the others being the subject of either a gift for people who have purchased the Ultimate edition of the Founder's Pack, or a reward from various Paths of the Stars, or even a surprise for players who have solved a puzzle. Discover the details of the availability of foxes below:

How to tame a fox

Once you have unlocked the Frozen Heights, you will be able to come across the different foxes listed above. The first thing to do to approach them is to bring their favorite food: fish. Although most will indulge in salmon, you'll need to catch a white sturgeon to really impress them. You can find these fish by fishing in the Frozen Heights. Salmon appear in white circles and white sturgeon in orange circles.

Once you have caught what you need, you can start approaching the foxes. Unlike raccoons, which must be approached delicately, foxes are playful and expect you to run after them. You can tame them quickly by following the instructions below:

  • Follow the fox until it starts to yelp and wag its tail.
  • Run after him when he runs away
  • Repeat the operation two more times
  • Come closer to interact with
  • Give him some fish

Once this is done, the fox will give you a gift. Most often he will give you a bag of patterns, but he can occasionally give you a dreamy glow if you give him his favorite food. If you want to make the fox your companion, you will need to feed it several times to unlock it, then assign it to your character from the Companion tab of the Wardrobe menu.
