In Disney Dreamlight Valley, you can imitate princesses by befriending animals. Like Pocahontas, you can make a raccoon your companion, but you'll need to have a little patience. Find out how to tame this critter right here:
The different types of raccoons
Your adventures in Disney Dreamlight Valley begin on the Esplanade, but be aware that you will need to visit different biomes for the purposes of the story. These new areas contain resources of their own, such as plants, minerals, and new types of wood that you will use for cooking and crafting items. You will also be able to meet different critters depending on where you are, such as the crocodiles of the Bayou de la Confidence that we spoke to you about recently, but also the raccoons that you can find in the Forest of Courage. There are 6 types of raccoons, but only 5 of them can be encountered in-game, with the sixth raccoon being unlockable through the Path of the Stars. Check out the availability of the raccoons in question below:
How to Tame a Raccoon
Once you have unlocked the Forest of Courage, you will be able to come across the different raccoons listed above. The first thing to do to approach them is to bring their favorite food: blueberries. All raccoons love blueberries, so you will only need this fruit to tame them, no matter their color. You can of course find blueberries everywhere in the Forest of Courage, but also on the Enchanted Beach.
With blueberries in your pocket, you will have to be patient to approach the raccoons. Unlike squirrels that will approach you of their own accord, raccoons are frightened and run away when they see you . But taming them is not impossible, you just need to go at their pace by following the instructions below:
- Follow the raccoon until it stops
- Wait for him to turn towards you
- Stay still when standing
- Take a step forward when he ducks
- Repeat the operation until you are close enough to interact with
- Give him a blueberry
Once this is done, the raccoon will give you a gift . More often than not, it will give you a bag of patterns , but it can occasionally give you a dream glow . If you want to make the raccoon your companion , you will need to feed it several times to unlock it, then assign it to your character from the Companion tab of the Wardrobe menu .
