The first visitable area of Disney Dreamlight Valley is the Esplanade, but if you manage your resources correctly and complete your Dreamlight missions regularly, you will quickly be able to unlock other biomes. Each area has its own resources, such as wood, minerals, and plants, which you can use not only to craft items but also to cook. You will also be able to meet different critters depending on where you are, such as the foxes of the Frozen Heights which we spoke to you about recently, but also sparrows which you can find on the Sunny Plateau. There are 5 types of sparrows, the availability of which you can discover below:

How to tame a sparrow

Once you have unlocked the Sunny Plateau, you will be able to come across the different sparrows listed above. The first thing to do to approach them is to bring their favorite food: flowers. Unlike other critters, sparrows can be a little difficult. Even if most will be tempted by an orange houseleek, you will have to make sure that the flower is the same color as them to really impress them:

  • Golden sparrow: yellow bromeliad or sunflower
  • Emerald sparrow: green passion lily or green rising penstemon
  • Sparrow orchid: orange houseleek
  • Red sparrow: red bromeliad
  • Turquoise sparrow: purple impatiens
You can find bromeliads and houseleeks on the Sunny Plateau, soaring penstemon in the Tranquil Meadow, sunflowers on the Enchanted Beach, passion lilies in the Frozen Heights, and impatiens in the Forgotten Lands.

Once you have harvested what you need, just be near the sparrows to interact with them. Unlike sea turtles, which must be approached delicately, you can tame them quickly by following the instructions below:

  • Approach the sparrow to interact with it
  • Give him a flower

Once this is done, the sparrow will give you a gift. Most often he will give you a bag of patterns, but he can occasionally give you a dreamy glow if you give him his favorite food. If you want to make the Sparrow your companion, you will need to feed it several times to unlock it, then assign it to your character from the Companion tab of the Wardrobe menu.
