Fast travel in Dragon's Dogma 2: how to get return crystals

Dragon's Dogma 2 doesn't have the simple fast travel routine of most open-world RPGs. In this guide, we will tell you about different ways to travel.

The map in Dragon's Dogma 2 is colossal in size, and you will have to walk across a large part of it. There are several ways to travel quickly. But, unfortunately, they are quite limited.

How to get Return Crystals (return point for teleport)

Such crystals allow you to quickly travel around the game world, but getting them is not easy. You will receive the first one from Captain Brant, and the others can be purchased through the Dragon Life Crystal at the Bay Wayside Shrine in Battahl.

Getting there at the beginning of the game will be quite difficult, so it’s better to level up to level 15-20. The temple itself is located in a cave near a sandy beach. Look around inside: there is a Rift Stone in the center, and a tunnel to the left.

We go into the tunnel and talk to the character Tempered by the Dragon (The Dragonforged). You can purchase from him: Ferrystones, Portcrystals, and Unmaking Arrows.

But to purchase you will need Wyrmslife crystals. To get them, we go hunting for drakes and dragons to earn crystallized drops of their blood.

How Return Crystals and Ferrystones work

As you explore the vast open world of Dragon's Dogma 2, you'll find glowing stones called Recall Crystals. They cannot be picked up or moved, but you can teleport to them. But first you will have to activate them, and then spend a small blue Ferrystone stone to move. These stones are rare, but are usually found in merchants (10,000 gold) as quest rewards, and are also scattered in chests throughout the world.

You can buy your own Return Crystals and leave them in the right place where you often travel or want to return. Ferrystone will be used for the teleport.

The game has a limitation that allows you to place only 10 of your own Return Crystals, but they are reusable. You can pick up one that will no longer be used and move it to a new location.

How to use carts to get around

Instead of the usual horses, Dragon's Dogma 2 has ox carts. They can take you to any large settlement for gold coins. The further you go, the more expensive it is.

They are quite slow, but they have another advantage. You can enjoy the stunning views of the locations if you don’t want to sleep. Then the game will carefully wake you up at the place of arrival. This is only a problem if you have an urgent quest.

The trip may be interrupted by an attack from opponents - then you will have to fight them off first. The carts are strong enough to withstand attacks from goblins or wolves - the accompanying guards help in this matter. But with griffins dragging away bulls in their paws, difficulties may arise. If the cart is destroyed in battle, then you will have to continue on foot.

The biggest disadvantage of ox carts is that they are only available at certain times. Come to the place where they appear in the morning to be sure to catch them in place.

How to use griffins to move around

This is not a completely traditional form of transport. In fact, you can ride a griffin and go on a journey, but most likely he will not like it, and he will attack you after landing on the ground.

To fly on a griffin, you need to be on its back during battle. You don't have to hold on all the time, but in moments of shaking or sudden maneuvers, you can use a little of your stamina. We'll have to try hard to wear him down and kill him. Also, the griffin can simply fly away if it feels weak.

But if you manage, you will find yourself where the griffin takes you. For example, this could be his lair. This is where you have to take the fight. The good thing is that pawns can simply teleport to you.
