How to farm experience in the early stages of Dragon's Dogma 2

 

Dragon's Dogma 2 is a new role-playing game from Capcom that may require you to earn extra experience points as you complete it. As in the Dark Souls trilogy, you are allowed to rest by the fire so that the monsters will respawn and you can kill them again. In this guide, we'll cover the best ways to farm XP in Dragon's Dogma 2 early in the game.

Complete story quests

This advice may seem trivial. But in Dragon's Dogma 2, the story missions are some of the easiest in the game. Often you are not even required to fight anyone. But at the same time, you will receive a lot of experience for the main quests. We recommend completing as many of Captain Brant's orders as possible before going to the coronation.

Kill huge monsters with cart guards

Battles with Cyclops will be a real challenge for you, especially at the beginning of the passage. However, you can use a trick. Get on the cart in Melva or Wentworth, pay 100 gold coins, and hit the road. To pass the time, you can fall asleep. There is a 50% chance that you will be attacked by a Cyclops on the way. The guards accompanying the cart will defeat him without any problems. You will receive experience, valuable items, and gold, with the help of which you will more than recoup the cost of the trip.

Attack the dragons

Dragons are even more formidable creatures than Cyclops. However, the game has an easy way to defeat one of them. To the north of the first city, there is an Ancient Battlefield. Run there, attract the dragon's attention, and return to the castle. Climb the wall and shoot at the fire-breathing monster with a large ballista. A direct hit will wound him, but not kill him. Therefore, move to the western side of the fortress, climb up, and fire a shot from a small ballista. All that remains is to return to the first gun, which will have reloaded by then. The third arrow will kill the dragon, and you will receive experience and many valuable resources, including the Awakening Stone, which will allow you to resurrect yourself or bring dead pawns back to life. 

Hunt rock lizards

If you wish, you can start destroying small monsters. For example, for each rock lizard, you will receive 624 experience points. We have indicated the place where they can be found on the map.

After all opponents are defeated, rest near the fire and start the battle again. If you feel strong enough, you can climb higher along the path. A cyclops, a minotaur, and a chimera are waiting for you there.
