For many years now, players have been able to enjoy Rare's pirate game, Sea of ​​Thieves on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series title on PS5 on April 30.

Following the announcement of this release on the console, some people are wondering if crossplay functionality is planned and we will give you the answer given on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Is there crossplay on PS5 for Sea of ​​Thieves?

If you are wondering if the crossplay function is planned on PS5 on Sea of ​​Thieves, well, the answer is yes as it was indicated on X. However, you will need to have a Microsoft account as you can see on the following image and link it to your PlayStation account.

Is there crossplay on PS5 for Sea of ​​Thieves

As soon as the feature is available for release on PS5, you will be able to play with your friends, regardless of the platforms they play on since you can create a group with a PC player, another on PS5 or even on Xbox Series or Xbox One.

We remind you that to invite your friends to play crossplay, you will have to add them either on PC or on Xbox. Here is the procedure to follow.

Add friends on PC

  • Open the Xbox app, go to the Community tab
  • Then search for your friend's name in the search bar at the top of the screen
  • Finish by clicking on their nickname and the “Add a friend” button

Add friends on Xbox

  • Click the Xbox button on your controller, then go to  Contacts  >  Find Someone
  • Press the  A key to select the account you want to add
  • Select  Add Friend to add that person's Xbox profile to your friends list. You will appear as a subscriber until they add you in turn

Obviously, we remind you that Sea of ​​Thieves allows you to play multiplayer, but sometimes you will encounter connection problems. When this is the case, remember to check the status of the servers  to see if maintenance is in progress.
