No Man's Sky: How to Increase Backpack and Ship Inventory

Your inventory will run out quickly in No Man's Sky. But if you know how to do it, you can quickly increase the size of your pockets and cargo holds to carry a lot of resources.

In No Man's Sky, the first thing you should take into account to improve your equipment and the ship is the number of slots each one has, that is, the size of the inventory. As soon as you start playing, you will soon realize that you do not have many storage spaces, and you will immediately wonder how you can improve or expand these spaces to be able to carry more resources and objects on your travels. Don't worry, in this entry of our guide, we explain it to you in detail.

How to increase the inventory of the exosuit?

One of the main problems in the first hours of No Man's Sky is how small the inventory of our personal backpack is, that is, the exosuit storage spaces.

Luckily, there are several methods to expand backpack space. The basic method is to spend money to buy more exosuit slots on both the Space Stations and the Nexus (the Anomaly).

  • At every station you visit: You will always find the Exosuit Research Station to purchase a new inventory slot.
  • In the Space Anomaly Nexus: You can go to the Iteration: Selene booth to purchase a new inventory slot.
Remember that for each new game system you visit you can do the same, but with each new space, the selling price of these improvements will increase considerably, so you will end up needing quite a bit of savings.

Luckily for you, there is also another method to improve the exosuit inventory for free, without spending money. To do this you have to search the planets for the symbols "?" that you can find with the scanner, and more specifically the places that are called "Ejection Container". They have an appearance like a cabin or capsule, like the one in this image:

In each of these capsules we can only expand one space in the backpack with different resources, and each time we add a new space the next one will be more expensive, but you will not have to spend money as in the method described above.
