No Man's Sky: Weapons Terminal, how to get it and formulas

 We explain how to get the Weapons Terminal for your base in No Man's Sky. Hire the armorer worker and unlock new formulas and special blueprints.

To expand our base and improve it in No Man's Sky, one of the fundamental things we must have is a Weapons Terminal and a hired gunsmith worker. Below we show you how to get this terminal and what plans you will unlock thanks to it.

The Weapons Terminal is used to obtain research and plans related to weapons, ammunition, and explosives. In order to create it, you first need to obtain its blueprint, which is obtained by following the missions given to you by the supervisor in the Construction Terminal and advancing in the missions of the Scientific Terminal.

Once you obtain the blueprint, you can proceed to build the terminal anywhere in your base or even inside a freighter (inside the base rooms you need at least two stories high).

  • Crafting the Weapon Terminal requires: Chromatic Metal x40 + Pugneo x25.

Hire the gunsmith for the base

The Gunsmith is the worker NPC that can operate in the Weapons Terminal. Once you have built it for the first time, you can search for this character who is found randomly on the space stations of Vy'keen systems (although it has also been reported to be found randomly in other systems).

The armorer is always a Vy'keen race NPC. You should be able to find him at the stations after several attempts, we recommend talking to all the Vy'keen characters until you find him. When you see him, ask him to move to your base to hire his services.

Formulas and plans of the Weapons Terminal

Following the Weapons Terminal and hiring the armorer, you can begin a chain of missions that will lead you to unlock new formulas and plans related to this terminal.

These are all the formulas that you will get as a reward if you complete the gunsmith missions:

  • NBC Glove: Exosuit technology that allows you to manipulate or harvest dangerous plants and other materials.
  • Cadmium Engine: spacecraft technology that allows the jump to red star systems.
  • Advanced ion battery: recharges defensive and danger protection systems with more power.
  • Plasma Launcher: Multi-tool technology that deals massive amounts of damage against living and robotic entities.
  • Phase Beam: Very powerful laser weapon and asteroid mining tool for the spacecraft.
  • Cyclotron Ballista: Starship technology that fires two projectiles at once slowly with high base damage.
  • Underknife Accelerator: Starship technology that fires two projectiles at once very quickly, although it takes a long time to recover from overheating.
  • Oxygen Capsule: Restores 100% life support charge.
  • Combat Scope: Multi-tool technology that adds zoom as an alternative fire feature.
  • Advanced Extraction Laser: Upgrade the multitool's laser to extract large deposits of advanced resources.
  • Positron Ejector: Starship technology that fires 20 extremely powerful projectiles.
