Outriders: You need to know about crossplay and multiplayer in the demo

 

In the demo for the loot shooter Outriders , almost everything can be played in multiplayer and crossplay. OkayGotcha explains how it works.

What content does the demo offer? You can play the first chapter of Outriders. This includes the entire prologue and the first main missions, plus a few side quests. Players can also create six characters and try out the four classes of Outriders .

How does crossplay work? This function allows you to form a group with players from other platforms. That includes the PC, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, PS4, and PS5.

The condition for this is an account with Square Enix, the publisher of Outriders. Because through this system the players are brought together. So you have to create an account on the official site first.

Now follow these steps:

• Start the demo
• Before you start, the game prompts you to connect your respective player account (Steam, PSN, Xbox, etc.) to the Square Enix account.
• You can do that under this link .
• Make sure in the settings that you have activated the crossplay function.
• Now you can have a code generated in the lobby of the game.
• Your friends only have to enter this code and they can join your group.

You can play this with friends: Except for the prologue, in which you are introduced to the world of Outriders and choose your class, you can play all of the content of the demo with friends or random players.

There is a matchmaking that throws you together with other players. You can create groups with friends who are playing on the same platform by inviting them from the lobby.

According to the official Twitter account for Outriders , there can still be problems with matchmaking, especially with crossplay. People Can Fly is working to resolve these issues as quickly as possible.

What else is there to know about the demo? Everything you achieve in the demo will be carried over into the main game. You can go up to level 7, unlock World Tier 5 (these are levels of difficulty) and even find legendary loot .

So if you definitely want to play for the release, you don't have to start over.
