 In Sons of the Forest you need to be able to defend yourself if you want to survive. It is therefore advisable to get a weapon as soon as possible. Fortunately, you can get a pistol right at the beginning without much effort. In this guide, we will also tell you where to find a suitable pistol attachment.
Location of the pistol attachment
The pistol and pistol attachment are conveniently not too far apart. From your crash site, you must head west. You need to walk to the far western shore where the map on your GPS device shows a purple exclamation mark in the water .
When you get to the western shore, you'll see that the exclamation mark points to an orange inflatable boat. Before you take care of the boat, you should first take a close look at the beach. There is a small camp with a corpse where you can collect the pistol attachment, among other things. There's a radio recorder in the camp that plays music, so you shouldn't have any problems finding it.

Location of the gun
After collecting the pistol attachment and the rest of the items, you can turn your attention to the boat in the water. The gun is in the boat and you will be able to swim to it quickly . However, sharks swim around the boat and may attack you. Before you leave, you should therefore build a tent and save the game to be on the safe side.

defeat sharks
You should also have either a bow and arrow or pistol ammo in your inventory to defend yourself against the sharks. You probably found pistol ammo at the crash site at the beginning, so that shouldn't be an obstacle for you either.
Swim quickly to the boat and climb up. If a shark attacks you, load the save and try again. After collecting everything in the boat (including a GPS tracker), you can open your inventory to combine the pistol with the attachment . At least one shark will probably be circling you now. With the pistol you can take out the attacker and swim back to shore.
