In Potions class, good Gareth Weasley will ask you to steal a Fwooper feather. But what are the consequences, and what changes between doing it and not doing it?
Unsurprisingly, a large part of your time at Hogwarts will be spent in class. In Hogwarts Legacy, you'll end up knowing all of your professors pretty well, including the Potions master, Professor Sharp.
Nomen omen, this professor - a former Auror - is a rather rigid teacher and does not tolerate wrongdoing of any kind. So when one of your classmates asks you to steal something from his office, you may fear the consequences of this potential action. We'll explain what will happen if you take the feather and whether you should avoid it instead.
HOGWARTS LEGACY: WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU STEAL FWOOPER'S FEATHER?
During your first Potions lesson, Sharp will tell you that you need to get some ingredients from his office since you don't have the required potion preparations yet. Before entering her office, Gryffindor student Gareth Weasley will pull you aside and ask you to get a Fwooper Feather for a new type of potion she's working on. After that, you will enter Sharp's office and the choice will be yours: will you steal the feather or not?
Accept Gareth's request
If you accept Gareth's proposal, you will be rewarded with a small cutscene in which the potion will explode in his face and Professor Sharp will scold him. After class, Sharp will call you and reveal that he knows it was you who took the feather. Then you can either admit or lie. Admit and he will praise you for your honesty, lie and he will admonish you again. However, this decision makes no difference to the rest of the game. After this episode, you will rarely talk to Professor Sharp and the incident will not be mentioned again.
Refuse Gareth's request
If you choose not to steal for Gareth, Sharp will commend you for refusing his request, though again, it won't make any difference to the story, and you can still accept the remaining side quests offered by Gareth a little further on.
