Hogwarts Legacy, the Room of Requirement: how to find it, farm resources

With so many things to do in Hogwarts Legacy, you're going to need somewhere to keep all your resources, as well as a space of your own. This space bears the name of Room of Requirement. Inside, you will be able to farm resources, grow plants, keep animals, and prepare potions, among other things, as well as being able to decorate it as you see fit.

It's an extremely useful area, especially if you're trying to complete tasks like obtaining Venomous Tentacula and Lunaria, so we'll explain how to unlock it and what you can do with it.

WHERE IS THE ROOM OF REQUIREMENT?

No matter how far you go back and forth in front of the wall, you won't be able to unlock the Room of Requirement until you reach the right story section. That is, shortly after completing the Tomes and Tribulations quest. It's a main quest, so you can't miss it.

Professor Weasley will tell you where to go, after which she will explore the room with you in her Room of Hidden Things form. Eventually, you'll meet the house elf Tik, who will help you turn the room into your very own base.

Once the room is unlocked, you can fast-travel to it whenever you want. Go to the Hogwarts map and select Secret Rooms, with the icon right at the top of the screen, to find it.

Room of Requirement spells

There are three spells you can only use in the Room of Requirement, and you'll need them to do whatever you need to do with them.

The first is the Transforming Spell, which will allow you to place new objects in the room; then there are the Altering Spell, to change the size and appearance of objects, and Evanesco, which will make objects disappear from the room.

Moonstone

Moonstone is a vital resource for preparing your room. Luckily, you can find them in lair locations scattered across the game's open world. Whenever you explore, keep an eye out for these crystals that will protrude from the rocks.

Fire a basic spell at them and you'll be showered with Moonstone. Similarly, using Evanesco on anything in the room will reward you with Moonstone.

Workbenches

There are several workbenches that will come in very handy in your room. You can buy new items from Tomes and Scrolls in Hogsmeade, so check out our guide on how to make money fast if you need some gold.

Here's what you should get as soon as possible:

Large garden benches – required for some types of plants
Corner alchemical tables – you can brew multiple potions at once
Description table – you can identify equipment with question marks
Enchanted Loom – you can upgrade your equipment
Substance Refiner – produces 10 Moonstones every 10 minutes
Hopping Pot – produces a random potion every 15 minutes
Cutting Station – produces a random plant every 10 minutes
Dung Compost – produces Fertilizer every 10 minutes

vivarium

The Vivarium will unlock a little later in the main story, right after you get the ability to rescue animals. Keeping them here will allow you to brush and feed them, which in return will allow you to harvest the materials they drop, which are needed to make upgrades for your equipment.
